Gardeners' Luncheon

2023 Battery Gardeners’ Luncheon

While gardening in The Battery’s 240,000 sq ft of perennials, we found 12 native bee species and thriving pollinators including butterflies, dragonflies, moths, and flies. In a time when biodiversity of public green space is critical to the health and wellbeing of urban life, our annual Battery Gardeners’ Luncheon celebrated native bees and pollinators who maintain and transform our plant paradise of 25 acres.

Thank you for joining us at The Battery Gardeners’ Luncheon: 2023

Details about the 2024 event will be announced soon!

The well regarded bee biologist, Sarah Kornbluth, shared her knowledge, research, and guidance to support and care for the native pollinators at The Battery and in your garden. In her capacity as Field Associate at The American Museum of Natural History, Sarah conducts ecological research and surveys to examine and compare bee communities and explore habitat management regimes.

100% of the gardening budget is funded by donations to the Battery Gardeners’ Luncheon.
