The 12th Annual Gala was a celebration of the Battery, its cultural magnetism throughout history and its critical part in the future of Lower Manhattan. Three distinguished, civic-minded visionaries were honored with Battery Medals in recognition of their commitment to this revitalization.

The Conservancy would like to thank all those who helped to make this a magical night.

and renowned co-biographer of Eugene O'Neill

John E. Zuccotti, Co-Chairman of Brookfield Properties

Mayor Bloomberg and Parks & Recreation Commissioner Adrian Benepe announced that world-renowned architect Frank Gehry will design his first playground for the Battery.

The Battery Conservancy would like to thank its donors and all those who made the 11th Annual Battery Gala a great success.

The New York Times featured the Battery Gala and the opening of the Walls within Walls exhibit inside Castle Clinton National Monument in an article on June 7th.
