The 12th Annual Gala was a celebration of the Battery, its cultural magnetism throughout history and its critical part in the future of
Lower Manhattan. Three distinguished, civic-minded visionaries were honored with Battery Medals in recognition of their commitment to this revitalization.
The Conservancy would like to thank all those who helped to make this a magical night.

Mayor Bloomberg and Parks & Recreation Commissioner Adrian Benepe announced that world-renowned architect Frank Gehry will design his first playground for the Battery.
