The Battery Bikeway connects the Hudson River Park Bikeway to the East River Esplanade making a 31-mile uninterrupted waterfront bicycle path that wraps Manhattan.
Separated from traffic by a 20-foot wide pedestrian path, the bikeway is a serpentine passage bordered by lush gardens of perennials, shrubs and woody plants. As you weave through the gardens, find air stations, bike parking and public restrooms along the way.
A cyclist’s respite from the city’s busy streets, the terracotta bike path is a departure from the asphalt and is bordered by a Stony Creek Granite seating wall. The Bikeway Gardens complete the vocabulary of The Battery’s highly public collection of plants from world-renowned Dutch garden designer, Piet Oudolf.
Lunch with friends in the Bosque at one of our farm-to-table outdoor cafes, ride SeaGlass Carousel or just stop for a moment and enjoy a paradise of horticulture and the ultimate harbor vista.
The Battery Bikeway is conveniently located near several Citi Bike bike sharing stations:
