The centerpiece of Peter Minuit Plaza is the New Amsterdam Plein & Pavilion. A gift in 2009 from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, it commemorates the arrival in 1609 of Henry Hudson – 400 years of friendship. Designed by Dutch architect Ben van Berkel, the elegant, white, star-shaped structure has an information booth, a bistro, and seating for 200 on its plaza (plein).
