The Battery, true to its heritage as New York’s birthplace park, is open for enjoyment of the harbor and gardens. We’re working closely with The Battery’s partners in government to keep our employees and visitors safe.
In accordance with the City’s response to COVID-19, SeaGlass Carousel is closed until further notice. Birdwalks and tours will resume this fall. We welcome volunteers to work safely in our gardens. Please see guidance here.
Bring your families and your sleeping bags for a night under the stars in The Battery Backyard with adventures provided by our educators. The Battery Conservancy provides family tents, telescopes for gazing at the night sky, a campfire, and s’mores!

Come along with us for Bird Walks at The Battery lead by NYC Audubon! Explore the diversity of migrating birds that find food and habitat in The Battery’s toxin-free gardens and lawns.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8am-9am during the spring, fall, and winter; check our events calendar for specific dates.
Join other families and community members to help with planting, harvesting, and seasonal tasks on The Battery Urban Farm, and enjoy guided explorations of the plants and animals that make their homes here.
